Welcome to the UN Watercourses Convention (UNWC) Online User’s Guide

This website was created to make the UNWC User’s Guide [PDF] more widely accessible and is intended for anyone wishing to gain more insight into the content and relevance of the Convention’s text.

The UNWC  is a global treaty adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1997. It is a framework convention governing international watercourses.

- Case studies analysing the role and relevance of the UNWC in regions around the globe

- Multimedia resources, including videos by experts in the relevant fields of water law and policy from around the world

- Concise and informative Fact Sheets
